A murder most foul, right here in our fair city. Not that it’s a big surprise, of course. A young woman was found dead in a
construction site on the outskirts of the city.
The police that arrived at the scene have IDed the woman as Patricia
Jones, noted CFO of the massive corporate Microzoneed. The crime scene was shut down until the
experts could be called in, along with a civilian consultant familiar with the
technological work the corporation does.
You arrive at the crime scene.
The officer on duty holds you at the yellow tape until Captain James
Marshal arrives, a tall and unforgiving man with a humorless demeanor. He immediately ushers all of you past the
tape and out of earshot of reporters and officers alike.
“I don’t think I need to tell you, but I’ll remind you anyway. This is a big deal. A massive deal. This can’t hit the media spread for at least
a few days, and you had best have some answers by then. If you don’t, I’ll have your jobs.”
With that, the captain turns and leaves. You approach the body to find her still wearing a suit with a skirt as if she had just left the office. Three wounds are immediately visible, staining her pink shirt red with blood. Her eyes are open, glassily staring at the sky. Her blond hair is disheveled, and her limbs are splayed in impossible angles. And thus begins the case of the Patricia Jones.
